If you are travelling in sleeper class, then according to the rules of Indian Railways, you can carry up to 40 kg of luggage. If you are carrying more luggage than this, then you can be fined if caught.
If your ticket is in third AC, then you can carry luggage weighing up to 40 kg with you. In second AC, this limit has been fixed at 50 kg.
If your ticket is in First AC, then you can carry up to 70 kg of luggage with you. If you want to travel with more luggage than this, then you will have to book a luggage van for this.
