Indian Railways is constantly taking new steps to make the journey of passengers even easier and convenient. In this episode, the Railways has launched a new scheme ‘Book Now, Pay Later’.
Under this scheme, passengers can book train tickets without making advance payment and can pay later. If you are planning a train journey but you do not have money at the time of ticket booking, then this scheme can prove beneficial for you. Under this scheme, you can book tickets and pay the ticket amount within 14 days.
If you use the railway’s ‘Book Now, Pay Later’ facility and pay within the stipulated time, you will not have to pay any additional fee. Yes, if you do not pay within 14 days, you will have to pay 3.5% service charge. This facility is available only when booking tickets online.
- Log in to IRCTC account.
- Click on ‘Book Now’ option.
- Fill in passenger details and captcha and submit.
- On the payment page, you will get the option to pay through credit/debit card, net banking or BHIM app.
- If you want to avail the benefit of ‘Pay Later’, you will first have to register by visiting www.epaylater.in.
- After registration, you will get the option of ‘Pay Later’.
- By choosing this option you can book tickets without any advance payment.
Beneficial for passengers, this scheme is especially helpful for those passengers who decide to travel suddenly and do not have money for Tatkal tickets. This facility gives them the freedom to book tickets without any tension. Just follow the deadline after availing this facility and avoid extra charges on late payment.
