Preparations to make changes regarding chart timing

Now the railways are preparing to change the timing of making the final chart. Currently, the final chart is prepared by the railways five minutes before the train departure time. But now preparations are underway to increase this time to 1 minute. The details of passengers who book tickets at the last minute are often not visible in the final chart prepared five minutes before. This causes problems to the passengers. Keeping this in mind, this decision has been taken by the railways.A letter was issued in this regard on 20 December.

Railway Board’s Director Passenger Marketing Sanjay Manocha has issued a letter to all the regional railways including Northeast Railway on 20 December and has sought a report in this regard. A reply has been sought on this by 2 January. This process will be taken forward only after 2 January. Let us tell you that till two years ago, the time for making the final chart was 30 minutes before the train’s departure. Due to this, the details of the tickets booked at the last moment used to come in HHT. But later this time was reduced to five minutes.

There were many problems due to the charts being prepared five minutes in advance.

After this, the information about the tickets prepared at the last moment was not able to reach the hand handling terminal available to the TTE. IRCTC SO Patron TN Pandey said that earlier there was no problem due to the charts being prepared half an hour in advance. But after the five-minutes-in advance rule was implemented, apart from the ticket checking staff, passengers also started facing problems. The charts which were finalized five minutes in advance were often not downloaded on time.

Primary chart is prepared four hours in advance.

Let us tell you that the primary chart is prepared four hours before the train leaves. For example, Rajdhani Express going from Delhi to Ahmedabad leaves at 7.55 pm. Its chart is prepared at 3.55 pm. After this, if Tatkal, Premium Tatkal or other quota seats are vacant, then passengers can book them up to five minutes before the train leaves. But due to the chart being prepared five minutes in advance, the last minute booked seats do not reach the TTE completely. Now, in view of the problems being faced in this system, a plan has been made to prepare the chart 15 minutes in advance.

TN Pandey said that the final chart prepared five minutes in advance caused a lot of trouble to the passengers and railway staff. In view of this, our organization had sent a letter to the Railway Board requesting to extend it. If this time is increased from 5 minutes to 15 minutes, then the problems will be resolved.
