Who gets the discount?
TB patients get this much discount
Train Fare Discount for Patients is given to TB patients in Indian Railways. Such patients get a discount of 75 percent on the fare for booking tickets in first class AC, second class AC and sleeper. The attendant traveling with the patient also gets concession in fare.
If heart patients are going for their surgery and kidney patients for their kidney transplant or dialysis, then they get a huge discount on railway fare (Train Fare Discount for Patients). Such patients get up to 75 percent discount in AC-3, AC Chair Car, Sleeper, Second Class and First AC. Along with the patient, a caretaker also gets the benefit of this exemption.
Free tickets for cancer patients!
If cancer patients are going somewhere for treatment, then they get up to 75% discount (Train Fare Discount for Patients) in AC chair car. While 100% concession is available in AC-3 and sleeper, that is, their entire fare is waived off. While AC First Class, Second AC Class gets 50% discount on fare.
Anemia patients are given 50% train fare discount (Train Fare Discount for Patients) in Sleeper, AC Chair Car, AC-3 Tier and AC-2 Tier. On the other hand, ostomy patients get concession in tickets for monthly session and quarter session treatment in first and second class AC.
Concessional ticket for leprosy patients
Such leprosy patients, who do not have infection, are given 75% discount on train fare (Train Fare Discount for Patients) in second, sleeper and first class for traveling in railways. At the same time, AIDS patients are given up to 50 percent concession in second class while going for treatment.
Hemophilia patients get 75 percent discount in second class, sleeper, first class, AC-3, AC chair car. Along with such patients, one more person is also given concession in fare.
