Crores of people travel daily by rail in India. However, passengers have very little knowledge about the many rules related to traveling in the train (Railway Rule for Passengers) .
Do you know that there are rules related to the berth on which you sit in the train. Many times the berth is not available in the train as per the choice because the railways have limited seats. Sometimes there is a dispute about sleeping on the middle berth. In such a situation, it is important to know which rules have to be followed during the journey.
People often avoid taking the middle berth while traveling by train because many times the passengers on the lower berths sit till late night, due to which the middle berth passengers face problems. Apart from this, many times the passengers sitting on the middle berths open their berths as soon as the train starts moving and this causes problems to the people sitting on the lower berths.
These rules related to middle and lower berths in the train
Keeping in mind the inconvenience caused due to the berth in the train during the journey, Indian Railways has made some rules. According to these railway rules, a middle berth passenger can sleep by opening his berth from 10 pm to 6 am.
But if the passenger opens his middle berth before 10 pm, then you can stop him from doing so. Well, similarly, if you have a middle berth and a lower berth passenger prevents you from opening the berth, then you can open your berth by informing him about this railway rule.
Significantly, after 6 am, it is necessary for the middle berth passenger to lower his berth, so that the passengers can sit on the lower berth. Passengers of lower berths will also have to get up and sit. You can tell this rule of the railway to the passenger who refuses to do so.
At the same time, there are some other rules related to rail travel, which have been made for the convenience of the passengers. As a rule, TTE cannot bother you for ticket checking after 10 pm during train journey. According to railway rules, TTE can check tickets only from 6 am to 10 pm. However, this rule does not apply to passengers who have started their journey after 10 pm.
