Indian Railways will unveil a new time table from January 1, 2025. The current time table, the 44th edition of ‘Trains at a Glance’, will be effective till December 31, 2024.

Last year, Indian Railways released the All India Railway Time Table Trains at a Glance (TAG), which became effective from October 1. TAG is also available on the official Indian Railways website.

The Railway Ministry plans to launch all 136 Vande Bharat Express trains, 2 Amrit Bharat Express trains and Namo Bharat Rapid Rail (Vande Metro) in 2025. Last year, the national transporter launched 64 Vande Bharat trains and 70 additional services to enhance passenger convenience and efficiency.

Usually, the Railway Ministry releases the working time table of ‘Trains at a Glance’ (TAG) before June 30 every year. The new time table comes into effect from July 1. However, this year the norms were revised.

IRCTC is preparing for Maha Kumbh Mela 2025

Meanwhile, in preparation for Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is ensuring world-class facilities for lakhs of devotees attending the event. According to an official release, along with operating about 3,000 special Mela trains, shelter is being arranged for more than 1 lakh passengers. Apart from this, IRCTC, the tourism and hospitality arm of the Indian Railways, has completed the construction of a luxurious tent city, Maha Kumbh Gram, near Triveni Sangam.

Online booking for stay at Maha Kumbh Gram is open from January 10 to February 28. Reservations can be easily made through the IRCTC website. Additional information is available on the IRCTC and Tourism Department websites and the Maha Kumbh app.
