Railway Concession Card: So many concessional cards issued for the disabled, know how you can avail the benefits

Railway Concession Card for PwD:  Bhopal Rail Division is constantly making efforts to facilitate the physically handicapped passengers and make their travel easier.

According to the information received from Divisional Railway Manager Devashish Tripathi and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Saurabh Kataria, a total of 518 Railway Disabled Concession Cards have been issued by Bhopal Division during this financial year (April to 25 November 2024). Through these concession cards, Divyang passengers are provided with concession in fare as well as the facility to travel with an attendant as per the rules.

How can I get this card made?

This step of Bhopal Railway Division has been taken with the aim of extending the benefits of the concessions being given by the government to as many eligible passengers as possible. To get a Divyang Concession Card, Divyang passengers have to upload a medical certificate issued by the District Medical Officer, a passport size photo, Aadhar card, birth certificate and concession certificate (certified by a doctor for a person who cannot travel without an escort) on the website https://divyangjanid.indianrail.gov.in.

The card is issued after verification of all the documents, information of which is sent to the applicant through SMS on mobile. The applicant should carefully provide correct information while filling the form.

The information of the concession card issued is updated in the railway software, so that the benefit of discount in fare can be availed by just showing the photocopy of the concession card at the time of booking the ticket. This facility is also available on e-tickets.
