1. Dhanteras holiday
The festival of Dhanteras will be celebrated on 29 October 2024. This festival comes on the first day of Diwali and is known as Dhanteras. 4. Holidays of the first week of November
1 November 2024 (Friday) will be a holiday in some states due to special festivals. This day is celebrated as Karnataka Rajyotsava, Haryana Day, Kerala Piravi and Puducherry Liberation Day. On these occasions, there will be a public holiday in states like Manipur, Puducherry, Haryana, Karnataka and Kerala. This day is special for those who belong to these states and celebrate it with great pomp.
5. Govardhan Puja
Govardhan Puja will be celebrated on 2 November 2024 (Saturday). This festival is especially celebrated in North India. On this day people worship Lord Krishna and worship Govardhan mountain. There will be a holiday on this day in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and Delhi. Apart from this, other festivals like Vikram Samvat New Year, Balipratipada and Ningol Chakouba are also celebrated along with Govardhan Puja, leading to holidays in many areas.
6. Bhai Dooj
Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on 3 November 2024 (Sunday). On this day sisters wish for long life and happiness and prosperity of their brothers. On Bhai Dooj, sisters apply tilak to their brothers and feed them sweets. Since this day is on Sunday, there will be a weekly holiday everywhere. Due to this banks, schools and colleges will remain closed. Family members celebrate this special day together.
