Chhattisgarh government has declared a local holiday in the state on Friday, November 1 on the occasion of State Foundation Day. All schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed on this day.
The General Administration Department has issued an order in this regard, which clarifies that all government institutions and offices will remain closed on November 1. However, this holiday will not apply to banks and treasuries, and normal work will continue there.
Organising Rajyotsav
To mark the foundation day of Chhattisgarh, the state government has decided to celebrate a district-level one-day Rajyotsav on November 5. The main Rajyotsav celebrations will be held in the capital Raipur on November 4 or 5, the date of which will be announced soon.
Importance of Foundation Day
1 November holds special importance for Chhattisgarh as the state was formed on this day in 2000. Every year, various cultural and educational programmes are organised on State Foundation Day showcasing the rich cultural heritage and achievements of the state. This year too, Rajyotsav will be organised with full zeal and enthusiasm to honour Chhattisgarh’s development, prosperity and culture. The state government has given directions to finalise all the necessary preparations for the event.
