Public holiday list for 2025 released, there will be 17 restricted and 34 Gazetted holidays

The government has announced the holidays to be given in the year 2025. The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has shared this information through a circular, which includes 17 Gazetted Holidays and 34 Restricted Holidays.

The list of holidays is released at the beginning of every year, which contains the dates of holidays for schools, colleges, government offices and other departments.

Difference between gazetted and restricted holidays

Gazetted Holidays are mandatory, while Restricted Holidays are optional. Restricted holidays are selected by the organization according to the cultural or religious schedules of the employees.
