New Delhi: Today, Eid-e-Milad is being celebrated with great pomp in many states of the country. In such a situation, there is a public holiday in many states, due to which all private and government banks, schools and colleges are closed.

However, some state banks and all government and institutions are working today. Let us tell you that this festival is celebrated by Muslim brothers and sisters in the country as a tribute to the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

Maharashtra government changed the holiday

In fact, last week, the Maharashtra government extended the Eid-e-Milad holiday in Mumbai from September 16, 2024 to September 18, 2024 due to Ganesh immersion. After which the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said, “The public holiday of September 16, 2024 announced earlier has been canceled.

” According to the press release issued by the central bank, “The Maharashtra government has declared a public holiday on September 18, 2024 under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.” In such a situation, all banks will remain closed in Maharashtra on Wednesday, September 18. Apart from this, banks are also going to be closed for Pang-Lahabsol in Sikkim.

The stock market will also remain closed

In such a situation, all banks will remain closed in Maharashtra on Wednesday, September 18. Apart from this, banks in Sikkim will also remain closed for Pang-Lahabsol. RBI also said that on September 18, there will be no transactions and settlements in government securities, foreign exchange, money market and rupee interest rate derivatives.

Let us tell you that due to settlement holiday in the country, most brokers do not allow the sale of shares bought on Friday on Monday. By the way, due to settlement holiday, your equity intraday profit credits and F&O credits are not included in your trading balance or are not available for withdrawal today.
