Public Holiday: The month of February has started with holidays. February 2 is Sunday, which is a weekly holiday. The next day, February 3 (Monday), is the festival of Basant Panchami.

Due to this, schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed in most states. This holiday will be a relief not only for children but also for working people. According to the official calendar in Punjab, February 2 (Sunday) is a holiday (reserved) for Basant Panchami.

This festival also marks the arrival of spring. On this day, people wear yellow clothes and prepare yellow colored foods like khichdi, sweet rice etc. This festival is celebrated with great pomp (Public Holiday) especially in West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.

The government has also released the holiday calendar for 2025 like every year. It has given the number of holidays fixed for government employees from January to December. These holidays include national, religious festivals and weekly holidays. This calendar is very important for government employees as well as students and other working class.

Although the list of holidays varies in different states, students are advised to check the complete list of holidays in their state government circulars. February 2 is a Sunday due to which schools, colleges and government offices will remain closed (Public Holiday). Basant Panchami festival will be celebrated on February 3. Due to this, there will be a holiday in most places. Although Basant is not a government holiday in Punjab. But many private schools may give holidays at their own level.

According to the 2025 holiday calendar, government employees will get 8 days of holiday in February, 9 in March, 9 in April, 7 in May, 7 in June, 4 in July, 7 in August, 7 in September, 10 days in October, 5 days in November and 6 days in December.
