Public Holiday: Good news! Govt has declared a 4-day public holiday on Chhath from November 6

Many states have holiday on Chhath However, the holidays will continue beyond this. Some states will also have holidays for Chhath Puja, a major North Indian festival. For example, the Bihar government has declared a four-day holiday from November 6 to 9, giving families and students a long holiday.

At the same time, schools in states like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have also declared a holiday of one to two days in many places. The Delhi government has declared a holiday on November 7.

Banks  Holidays

Banks will remain closed in Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand on November 7 on the occasion of Chhath (evening prayer). Banks will remain closed in Bihar, Jharkhand and Meghalaya on

November 8 on the occasion of Chhath (morning prayer) and Wangala Festival. Banks will remain closed on

November 9 as it is second Saturday and on November 10 as it is Sunday. On

November 15 , on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima and Rahas Purnima, banks will remain closed in Mizoram, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Hyderabad-Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Nagaland, Bengal, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh and Srinagar. Banks will remain closed on Sunday in all Indian states and union territories on

November 17. Banks will remain closed in Karnataka on

November 18 on Kanakadas Jayanti. Banks will remain closed on

November 23 on the occasion of Seng Kutsnem in Meghalaya and it is also the fourth Saturday. Banks will remain closed on Sunday in all Indian states and union territories on

November 24 .

Holiday again on 15 November Children’s Day on November 14 will be celebrated in schools with activities and picnics, with some institutions having half-day programmes while others may have a full day holiday. Also, schools will remain closed on November 15 for Guru Nanak Jayanti.
