A notice issued by the Tamil Nadu government has cleared the confusion of the people by announcing two days holiday. The notice clearly states when the Diwali holiday will be. In this regard, the government issued a statement saying, ‘To celebrate this year’s Diwali on 31.10.2024, keeping in mind the convenience of students, teachers, parents and government officials returning to their hometown, 01.11.2024 is declared a holiday.’ At the same time, there will be a four-day holiday on November 2-3 due to Saturday-Sunday.
November 9 declared as working day
This order will be applicable to government schools, colleges and educational institutions as well as government offices, private institutes, schools and colleges. However, an order has been issued to declare November 9 as a working day to compensate for the holiday on November 2.
The auspicious time for Diwali is on October 31st
In the year 2024, Diwali will be celebrated on 31 October. The festival of Diwali is celebrated on the Amavasya date of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This time Kartik Amavasya date will start on 31 October at 3:52 pm and the date will end on 1 November at 6:16 pm. In such a situation, according to the date of Amavasya, some scholars or pundits are saying that celebrating Diwali on 31 October is right. The festival of Diwali is of five days. This year Diwali will start with Dhanteras on 29 October and end with Bhai Dooj on 3 November.
