Public Holiday Alert: Banks and schools will be closed for four days from September 20, know the full details of the holidays

The four-day holiday

1. 20 September: Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi. This day is an important religious festival for the Muslim community, in which the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad is celebrated.

2. September 21: A holiday will be observed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Sri Narayana Guru Samadhi Day. This day is celebrated to pay homage to Shri Narayan Guru, who played an important role in social reforms.

3. 22 September: Being a Sunday, all schools, banks and government offices will remain on normal weekly holidays.

4. September 23: Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar on the occasion of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji’s birthday. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of a historical figure of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • – 15 September 2024: Banks will be closed in many states on the occasion of Onam (Sunday)
  • – 16 September 2024: Holiday in many states on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad

  • – 18 September 2024: Pang-Lahabsol (Gangtok)
