What did RK Singh say?
In an interview given to NDTV, RK Singh said- Solar panels will be installed on the roofs of houses of one crore families. The government will do the work from installation to maintenance. RK Singh said that the government is giving 40 percent subsidy up to 3 kilowatts, which will be increased to 60 percent.
After this a loan will have to be taken. Public sector companies will take this loan and will implement the same system. RK Singh says that with the installation of the solar system, the family’s electricity will become free.
How to earn money
Actually, the solar systems that will be installed on the roof will generate more than 300 units of electricity. With this additional electricity, public sector companies will be able to repay loans. It is estimated that with this the companies will complete the loan repayment in 10 years.
After this the roof top solar system will belong to the landlord. After this, homeowners can save a huge amount of money through the electricity generated from their solar system. The life of this system is 25 years.
What was announced in the budget
In the budget, the Finance Minister had said that by installing rooftop solar system, 1 crore families will be able to get up to 300 units of free electricity every month. By using free solar power and selling surplus power to power distribution companies, families will save Rs 15,000 to 18,000 every year.
A large number of vendors will get opportunity for supply and installation. There will be employment opportunities for youth having techno skills in manufacturing, installation and maintenance.
