New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi’s third term has begun. The first meeting of the new cabinet was held on Monday (10 June) at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the meeting, it was decided to build 3 crore additional houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Benefits of PM Awas Yojana
- PMAY scheme helps people living in kutcha or temporary houses to get pucca houses.
- If a person has land, he can also take financial assistance through this scheme to build a house.
- Under this scheme, the government provides subsidy on home loans. The amount of subsidy depends on the size of the house and the income level.
- Under this scheme, banks are encouraged to provide home loans at low interest rates.
- The maximum repayment period for home loans under the PMAY scheme is 20 years.
Eligibility for PM Awas Yojana
- The age of the applicant must be 18 years or above.
- It is also necessary for the applicant to be an Indian citizen.
- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is available for families with annual income up to Rs 18 lakh.
- To be eligible for the scheme, individuals should not own any pucca house in any part of India.
- If any member of the family has a government job then he/she will also not get the benefit of the scheme.
- The annual income of people associated with EWS should be less than Rs 3 lakh.

How to apply for PM Awas Yojana
Youcan apply for PMAY scheme in two ways i.e. online and offline. To apply offline, you will have to go to the nearest Common Service Center (CSC). At the same time, you can apply online through the official portal of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (http://pmayg.nic.in/).
