Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan: The Amrit Mahotsav of Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) is being celebrated across the country. On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, the government has also started the ‘Har Ghar Tricolor’ campaign. It aims to encourage people to hoist the tricolor at their homes from August 13 to 15. For this, various preparations are being made all over the country. In this episode, another decision has now been taken by the government.
Post offices will remain open even on holidays.
All post offices across the country will remain open till Independence Day. The Post Office will work throughout the day to facilitate the sale and distribution of the National Flag under the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan. This includes vacation. All delivery post offices and other important post offices across the country will function to support this public campaign. A special counter will be set up on holidays.
Special arrangements for distribution of the national flag In this context, the Ministry of Communications said that on holidays on August 7, 9 and 14, the post offices will make special arrangements for the sale of the tricolor through at least one counter. Special arrangements will also be made for the distribution of the National Flag in all the delivery post offices.
More than 6 lakh flags supplied to post offices
In Maharashtra circle alone, the national flag has been supplied to 10,939 post offices for sale. More than 6,18,000 flags have been supplied to post offices. Of these, over 2,86,000 flags have already been sold. The ministry said in its release that post offices in Left Wing Extremist affected areas in Maharashtra are also engaged in the sale of the tricolor.
Banners and selfie boards put up in post offices
To encourage people to participate in this campaign, banners and selfie boards related to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign have been put up in various post offices. Maharashtra Circle Division has organized 24 Prabhat Pheris at various places in Maharashtra and Goa to sensitize the public on the importance of Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan.
