Punjab National Bank has launched IVR based UPI solution. With this, it has become the first bank in the public sector, which has started the facility of payment through AVR based UPI. Now users having a feature phone can also make digital payments through UPI using its IVR number.
Leading public sector bank PNB has introduced UPI 123PAY IVR based UPI solution to create a cardless and cashless society under digital vision by 2025. Through this, now feature phone users can also take advantage of UPI payment.
Will be able to pay even without internetÂ
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) provides real time quick and instant payment facility, which can be used anytime in 24 hours. Till now the facility of payment through UPI was the facility of payment through smartphone or USSD and you could make payment only by using internet. However, now through UPI 123PAY, PNB users can avail the benefits of payment even without internet. This facility will be available for UPI transactions on any feature phone or in areas with low internet connectivity.
Most customers in rural and small townsÂ
The MD & CEO of Punjab National Bank said that India’s largest population is in rural and small town areas. Such people still pay more than cash. He said that 63 percent of PNB’s branches are located in rural and small towns. PNB has a large number of customers in these areas.

The MD said that this facility is beneficial for those who do not have smartphones and internet connectivity. The facility of UPI 123PAY will help such people completely. Payment can be made anywhere in India with its help. This facility is also available for non PNB customers.
