Almost every employed person has a PF account. PF account is managed with the help of Universal Account Number (UAN). Why transfer of pf account is necessary

It is very important to transfer PF account to continue your savings and profits while changing jobs. When you transfer your PF account, your deposit balance and interest gets transferred to the new account. This ensures that your savings keep growing, and that you don’t lose the money you accumulated in your previous job. Apart from this, you can also get the facility of pension, withdrawal of money and loan against the remaining amount by transferring your PF account.

This is how you can transfer your PF account

Step 1- To transfer your PF account first you need to login to the Unified Portal (Member Interface) of EPFO at unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ using your credentials i.e. UAN number and password.

Step 2- After login, you have to go to the option of Online Services and click on One Member-One EPF Account (Transfer Request).

Step 3- After this you have to verify your personal information and PF account for the current job.

Step 4- After this you have to click on the option of Get Details to get the PF details of your previous job.

Step 5- You will get the option to choose your previous employer or present employer to attest the claim form, depending on the availability of the authorized signatory holding the DSC. You can select any one employer and provide the Member ID/UAN.

Step 6- After this you have to click on the option of Get OTP. After which an OTP will come on your registered mobile number. After this you have to enter the OTP and click on submit.

After this process is completed, the employer will digitally accept your EPF transfer request by visiting the employer interface of the Integrated Portal. You will also need to fill Form 13 and download the transfer claim which will be in PDF format and submit the online PF transfer claim form to your employer by signing it.
