Despite a huge drop in crude oil prices in the global market, government oil companies have increased the prices of petrol and diesel on Monday morning. Today, changes in retail oil prices are visible in many cities from UP to Bihar. Earlier, the government had also increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel by about Rs 2 at the beginning of this month. Currently, the price of crude in the global market is around $ 65 per barrel.
According to government oil companies, petrol has become cheaper by 25 paise and is being sold at Rs 94.87 per liter in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of UP. Diesel has also fallen by 28 paise and has reached Rs 89.01 per liter. However, in the neighboring district Ghaziabad, petrol has become costlier by 26 paise and is being sold at Rs 94.70 and diesel has increased by 30 paise to Rs 87.81 per liter. In Bihar’s capital Patna, petrol has increased by 13 paise and is being sold at Rs 105.60 per liter, while diesel has become costlier by 11 paise and is being sold at Rs 92.43 per liter.
Talking about crude oil, its prices have also seen a decline in the last 24 hours. The price of Brent crude in the global market has fallen to $64.81 per barrel. The rate of WTI has also fallen to $61.55 per barrel.
Petrol and diesel prices in the four metros’
– Petrol in Delhi is Rs 94.72 and diesel is Rs 87.62 per liter
– Petrol in Mumbai is Rs 103.44 and diesel is Rs 89.97 per liter
– Petrol in Chennai is Rs 100.76 and diesel is Rs 92.35 per liter
– Petrol in Kolkata is Rs 104.95 and diesel is Rs 91.76 per liter
Rates have changed in these cities
– In Ghaziabad, petrol has become Rs 94.70 and diesel Rs 87.81 per liter.
– In Noida, petrol has become Rs 94.87 and diesel Rs 88.01 per liter.
– In Patna, petrol has become Rs 105.60 and diesel Rs 92.43 per liter.
New rates are released every morning at 6 am.
The prices of petrol and diesel change every day at 6 am. The new rates come into effect from 6 am. After adding excise duty, dealer commission, VAT and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price becomes almost double of the original price. This is the reason why the prices of petrol and diesel appear so high.
