Even though there is no change in the price of petrol and diesel in the four metros of the country. But, the state governments have once again started increasing the price of petrol and diesel. This time the Meghalaya government has given a big blow to the people of the state due to inflation. The Meghalaya government has increased the prices of petrol and diesel. State Taxation Minister James PK Sangma gave this information. On the other hand, for this increase, Sangma has cited the increase in the price of petrol and diesel in the neighboring state of Assam.

According to the new rates, the rate of petrol has now gone up to Rs 95.1 per liter in Birnihat, Meghalaya and Rs 96.83 in Shillong, while the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 83.5 per liter in Birnihat and Rs 84.72 in Shillong. That is, accordingly the price of petrol and diesel has been increased by Rs 1.50 per liter respectively.
