Approval has been given by the cabinet to increase the existing social pension in the state from Rs 2,500 to Rs 2,750 per month. About 65 lakh pensioners of the state will get the benefit of this.
There will be an additional burden of Rs 130.44 crore.
In fact, there are currently 62 lakh pensioners in the state and 2.43 lakh will be added to this government scheme this month. New pensioners and old pensioners will be given enhanced pension from January 1, 2023. In the official release issued by the government, it was told that due to this change in pension, the government will have an additional burden of Rs 130.44 crore every month.
Apart from this, the cabinet also approved
the Andhra Pradesh Pumped Storage Electricity Promotion Policy-2022 for promoting ‘pumped storage’ and hydropower projects for the use of non-conventional sources of energy. According to the statement, the cabinet also approved the proposals of JSW Steel Ltd. for setting up an integrated steel plant in YSR district and Adani Green Energy Ltd. for setting up a total of 1,600 MW of pumped hydro storage projects in the state.
