Let us tell you that due to the huge number of passport applications, the demand for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) has increased significantly, which is causing some problems. To overcome this problem, the Ministry of External Affairs has taken a big decision. Now after 28 September 2022 all online Post Offices in India will be able to apply for PCC services at Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs). This service will be available across India. Now after this it will be even easier to get a passport.
Ministry of External Affairs announced about Online Passport Apply
The Ministry of External Affairs made a statement, in which it was said that the Ministry is working to simplify passport related services and make the process better for the citizens. There was a huge increase in the demand for Police Clearance Certificate (PCC). In view of this, now the facility of applying for PCC services is being provided in all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras in India.
What is meant by Police Clearance Certificate?
This certificate is issued by the police. This certificate is required if people take a visa for residential status, job or long term. At the same time, for information, let us tell you that PCC is not required to go abroad on tourist visa.
Who will benefit
According to the ministry, after this decision, not only those going for employment abroad will be benefitted but the demand of other PCC needs will be met. Like in the case of education and in the case of visas for a long time.

- Self attested photocopy of the job agreement with the foreign employer.
- Copy of seven valid visas with official English translation (if visa is not in English)
- Self attested photocopy of ECR/Non-ECR.
