How to apply for a child’s PAN card?
Minors cannot get their PAN card made on their own. Only their parents or guardians can apply for a PAN card for them. PAN card can be applied both online and offline. The process of applying for a PAN card online for a minor is something like this-
1. First of all go to the NSDL website and download Form 49AA.
2. Now enter the personal details of the applicant.
3. Upload the minor’s photos and other necessary documents.
4. After this upload the signature of the parent or guardian.
5. After this make the payment and submit the form.
6. You will get a receipt number to track the application status.
7. After verification, you will get the PAN card within 15 days.
How to apply for PAN card offline for a minor
1. First of all get Form 49A from the official website or NSDL office.
2. Fill all the personal information in the form and submit it.
3. Attach two photographs of the child and the necessary documents.
4. Now submit the filled form and documents along with the fee to the nearest NSDL office.
5. After verification, your PAN card will be sent to the given address.
Documents required to apply for PAN card for a minor
1. Address and identity proof of parents
2. Identity proof of applicant (Aadhar card / Ration card / Passport / Driving license / Voter ID card)
3. Address proof (Aadhar card / Post office passbook / Property registration document / Residence certificate)
The PAN card given to minors does not have their photo or signature. In such a situation, it cannot be used as a proper proof of identity. Therefore, when people turn 18, they have to apply to update their PAN card.
