If you have not yet linked your PAN with Aadhaar, then your bank account can be frozen after the deadline. The Income Tax Department has asked PAN users to complete the process of linking with Aadhaar before the deadline of June 30.

The Income Tax Department has warned the PAN card holders to link PAN with Aadhaar immediately, otherwise the PAN card will become inactive.
The last date for making PAN link (Pan-Aadhar Link Last Date) is 30 June 2023. A fine of Rs 1,000 will have to be paid for linking PAN and Aadhaar online. Users can pay this fee from the website of NSDL.
What will happen after July 1 if there is no link
According to the Income Tax Department, PAN will become inactive from July 1, 2023 if PAN is not linked to Aadhaar. The PAN of such customers will be canceled under Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act. There is also a provision for a fine of Rs 10,000 for using an inactive PAN card after July 1, 2023. So if there is no link, the users will face difficulty in banking transactions, land or property will not be able to be bought and sold. While the bank account can also be frozen.
how to link pan aadhaar online
- Users will first have to visit the e-filing website of the Income Tax Department (www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in).
- Register yourself on the website. Here PAN number will be your user ID.
- Now login by entering User ID, Password and Date of Birth.
- After this, you will see an option on the website ‘Link Aadhaar’, click on it.
- Users have to go to the profile setting of their account.
- As soon as you go to the profile setting, the option to link Aadhaar card will appear, select it.
- Now users fill their Aadhaar number and captcha code.
- After this, click on the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option shown at the bottom.
- After completing this process, your PAN card will be linked with Aadhaar.
