The Income Tax Department has introduced PAN 2.0 to improve the process, convenience and security of Permanent Account Number (PAN) allotment. PAN 2.0 with QR code will be delivered to the users’ email ID without any charge.
Talking about the existing PAN cards, even after the introduction of PAN 2.0, PAN cards without QR code will be completely valid. If you also want to apply for PAN 2.0 and receive it on email, then we are telling you its step-by-step process.
Follow these steps:
Before applying for PAN 2.0, confirm that your PAN has been issued by NSDL or UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Ltd. This information will be available on the back side of your PAN card.
How to apply for e-PAN through NSDL
1- Visit NSDL e-PAN portal – https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/requestAndDownloadEPAN.html.
2- Enter your PAN along with Aadhaar (for individuals) and date of birth.
3- Check the details and select the option to receive one-time password. Enter the OTP within 10 minutes to proceed.
4- You will get the option of three free requests within 30 days of PAN issuance. After this, you will have to pay Rs 8.26 along with GST.
5- Once the payment is successful, e-PAN will be delivered to your registered email ID within 30 minutes.

How to apply for e-PAN through UTIITSL
1- Visit UTIITSL PAN Portal – http://www.pan.utiitsl.com/PAN_ONLINE/ePANCard.
2- Enter your PAN, date of birth and captcha code.
3- If your email is not registered, you will have to update it when PAN 2.0 project is officially launched.
4- This is free for e-PAN issued within the last 30 days. After this, you will have to pay Rs 8.26.
5- Your e-PAN will reach your registered email ID in PDF format.
