The National Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) in its 38th board meeting on Wednesday approved the detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed Sector-142 to Botanical Garden metro section.
NMRC Managing Director Dr. Lokesh M said that now the DPR will be sent to the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India for final approval. He further said that this project will provide direct connectivity to Delhi Airport (Terminal-1) through Magenta Line of Delhi Metro.
The board meeting was chaired by Officer on Special Duty (UT) Jaideep and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Dr. Lokesh M said that the cost of the project is Rs. 2,254.35 crores and its estimated length is 11.56 kilometers. There will be a total of eight stations, namely Botanical Garden, Noida Sector-44, Noida Office, Noida Sector-97, Noida Sector-105, Noida Sector-108, Noida Sector-93 and Panchsheel Balak Inter College.

“It will provide direct connectivity to people traveling between Delhi and Noida-Greater Noida. It is estimated that around 80,000 passengers will use this facility every day. NMRC MD said, residents of Sector-44, 45, 97, 99, 100, 104, 105, 108 and 93 will benefit from this. He further said that this line will provide connectivity to inter-city and intra-city bus stations as well as Indian Railway stations like New Delhi and Anand Vihar.
