ITMS will start from July 1
Breaking traffic rules while traveling between Bengaluru and Mysore in South India will now cost the drivers heavily. The Intelligent Traffic Management System will be started on this Expressway from July 1, 2024. According to media reports, the ADGP of the state traffic police has informed that this system will be started in Mysore city and Mysore district.
It was launched in Bengaluru
In the year 2022, this system was first started in Bengaluru. Under which 250 automatic number plate recognition cameras and 80 RLVD cameras were installed at 50 major junctions of the city. Now this system has been extended to Mysore.

How much did it cost
The cost of bringing ITMS to Mysore is about Rs 8.5 crore. In which this system has been installed with the help of Rs 4 crore in Mysore city and Rs 4.5 crore in the district. Now this system will be started from July 1.
Those who break the rules will get an alert
According to the information, a traffic management center has been established in Mysore. Which will start sending SMS alerts in real time to those who break traffic rules.
What is ITMS
ITMS is an intelligent traffic management system, in which monitoring is done through high definition CCTV cameras. With its help, policemen in the management center are also able to keep an eye on those vehicles which break traffic rules. This camera takes real time images of such vehicles and challan is issued on the basis of registration number. After which the vehicle owner gets information through SMS alert.
