New Delhi. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced a new scheme for 5 lakh women of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category in Budget 2025. Under this scheme, women of this society who are becoming entrepreneurs for the first time will be provided a term loan of Rs 2 crore in the next 5 years.
The lessons learnt from Standup India scheme will also be incorporated in this scheme. Workshops will be organised on how to promote business online and for development of managerial skills.
The Finance Minister has said that the government will formulate a special policy to increase employment opportunities and entrepreneurship in labour-intensive sectors. A focus product scheme will be implemented to promote quality, productivity and competition in India’s footwear and leather sector. This scheme is expected to provide employment to 22 lakh people. It is also expected to generate revenue of Rs 4 lakh crore and exports of more than Rs 1.1 lakh crore.
Today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her 8th budget. The government had already said that this budget is special for women, poor and backward classes and middle class. Many steps are being taken by the government to promote entrepreneurship in the budget. Term insurance up to Rs 2 crore for women of backward class is an example of this. Apart from this, the government has assured help to new people to start small businesses. This is expected to increase employment opportunities.
