Sukanya Samridhi Yojana Rule Change: The Government of India runs many schemes for the citizens of the country. The government has different types of schemes for different people. Some schemes are especially for women. Some schemes are also for girls. The Government of India started Sukanya Samridhi Yojana in the year 2015 under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.

Under this scheme, parents or guardians of daughters deposit money for their higher education and marriages. The Government of India also gives a good amount of interest on investment in this scheme. If you are also thinking of opening an account for your daughter under this scheme. Or if you have already opened an account, then you should know the new rules related to the scheme which will be implemented from next month. Let us tell you.

Only legal guardians can open an account

The responsibility of opening an account in the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana launched by the government for daughters lies with the parents or their guardians. Parents are legally the legal guardians of the daughter. But if someone is not the legal guardian of the daughter and has opened an account for the daughter, then that account will have to be transferred to the legal guardian. Otherwise, such accounts can be closed. This rule will be applicable for Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana from October 1.

What is the benefit of the scheme?

This scheme of the government has been specially introduced to secure the future of girls. By opening an account under this scheme, a good amount of money can be deposited for the daughter. Which can later be used for the daughter’s education or her marriage. An account can be opened for any daughter below 10 years of age under the scheme.

Anyone can open an account in the scheme by paying Rs 250. A minimum of Rs 250 has to be deposited annually in the scheme. At the same time, the maximum amount that can be deposited is Rs 1.5 lakh. Investment in this scheme is made for up to 15 years.
