New Rules e-rickshaws: Color code rules implemented for e-rickshaws in this city, action will be taken on violation

Basti: Like Delhi and Mumbai, now smart e-rickshaw facility has started in Basti district too. For better and safer traffic management, the district has been divided into five zones. Each zone has been given a different color code, so that vehicle owners and passengers can easily understand which e-rickshaw will operate in which area.

According to the rules, e-rickshaws registered in one zone will not be allowed to enter another zone. Apart from this, e-rickshaws running in rural areas will not be allowed to enter urban zones.

Five zones of Basti

Red Zone: Shastri Chowk, Company Bagh, Gandhi Nagar, South Gate Road and area up to Railway Station.

Green Zone: Badevan Block Road, Malviya Tiraha, Pani Tanki, Fabbara, Company Bagh, Shastri Chowk and Amhat Futhia.

Orange Zone: Patel Chowk, Pachpediya, Roadways Hospital, South Gate and Railway Station.

Yellow Zone: Hadiya, Bardahiya, Pandey Bazaar, Karua Baba, South Gate, Railway Station and Purana Basti.

Rural Zone: This is reserved for rural areas. E-rickshaws from these areas will not be allowed to enter urban zones.

The process of e-rickshaw registration

started on November 15 and the registration campaign will run till November 25, 2024. Traffic in-charge Awadhesh Tiwari said that all e-rickshaw drivers will have to get their free registration done at Badevan office from 10 am to 5 pm.

Documents required for registration

  • Aadhar card of the vehicle owner.
  • Driving license of the e-rickshaw driver.
  • This registration process is completely free. It is mandatory for the drivers to register within the stipulated time limit so that they can avail the new routes and facilities.

Publicity through loudspeakers

Information about route determination and registration is being given through loudspeakers at major intersections and crowded areas of the city. The traffic in-charge said that e-rickshaw drivers are being constantly informed to get registered on time.
