The month of July is over and August (August 2024) has started from today. Along with this, many big changes (Rule Change From 1st August) have come into effect in the country from the first date.

These are such changes which are related to everything from the kitchen of your house to your bank. On one hand, while the price of LPG cylinder has been changed, the new rules of HDFC Bank Credit Card (HDFC Bank Credit Card Rule Change) to Fastag (FasTag Rule Change) have come into effect. First change: LPG prices increased

The month of August has started from today and on August 1, 2024, LPG gas cylinders have been hit by inflation. Yes, after the budget, the oil marketing companies have increased the prices of LPG cylinders. This time also the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders have changed, while the prices of 14 kg domestic gas cylinders remain the same this time too. From Thursday, the commercial LPG cylinder has become costlier by Rs 8.50. Last month, the price of Commercial LPG Cylinder was reduced by up to Rs 30.

If we look at the new rates after the latest change, according to the IOCL website, the price of 19 kg LPG cylinder in the capital Delhi (Delhi LPG Cylinder Price) has increased from Rs 1646 to Rs 1652.50, from Rs 1756 to Rs 1764.5 in Kolkata, from Rs 1598 to Rs 1605 in Mumbai and from Rs 1809.50 to Rs 1817 in Chennai.

Second change – Penalty will be imposed on filing ITR

The second change implemented from the first date is related to income tax, in fact, if you have not filed your ITR by 31 July 2024, then now you will have to do this work with a penalty. According to the guidelines of the Income Tax Department, taxpayers can file belated returns (Belated ITR Filing) till the end of the year i.e. 31 December 2024. This will be filled with a penalty. If your income is less than Rs 5 lakh, then the penalty for filing ITR can be Rs 1,000 and if your income is more than Rs 5 lakh, then the penalty for filing ITR can be up to Rs 5,000.

Third change – HDFC Bank Credit Card

The date of August 1 is also bringing changes for the users using HDFC Bank credit card, the largest bank in the private sector. In fact, if rent payments are made through HDFC Bank credit card from third party apps CRED, Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge and others, then a 1% charge will be levied on that transaction and the limit per transaction has been fixed at Rs 3,000. There will be no additional charge on fuel transactions for less than Rs 15,000, however, a 1% fee will be charged on the total amount for transactions above Rs 15,000.

Fourth change – Google Map charges

Google Map is also going to change its rules in India from August 1, 2024. Which is going to be implemented in the whole country from the first date. Actually, the world’s largest search engine has announced to reduce the charges taken in India on its Google Map service by up to 70 percent. Apart from this, now Google will also take payment of its map service in Indian Rupee instead of Dollar.

Fifth change – 13 days bank holiday

If you have any bank related work in the month of August, then before leaving the house, take a look at the bank holiday list issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Actually, according to the August Bank Holiday List, there will be no work in banks for 13 days in the entire month. Banks will remain closed due to various occasions like Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami and Independence Day. These holidays also include the weekly holiday falling on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sunday.

Sixth change: FasTag rules changed

New rules are going to be implemented for the drivers from today. Actually, FasTag KYC process will have to be completed between 1 August 2024 and 31 October 2024. Along with this, now the drivers will have to replace their more than 3 year old FasTag with a new one.
