New Pension Rule: Central govt pensioners to get additional compassionate pension after this age Limit

Yes, according to the government notification, pensioners above 80 years of age will now get compassionate allowance. The circular related to this has been issued by the Ministry of Public Grievances and Pensions.

Will get additional pension

According to the circular issued by the Ministry, pensioners above the age of 80 will get the benefit of additional pension from the government. For this, the government has also issued new guidelines. Through these new guidelines, the government has made the process of giving additional pension very easy so that the distribution of pension is done easily as well as quickly.

Under the provisions of sub-rule 6 of rule 44 of CCS (Pension) Rules 2021, pensioners will be given the benefit of additional pension or compassionate allowance along with pension. According to the rules, pensioners aged 80 to 85 are eligible for 20 percent of the basic pension, while pensioners aged 85 to 90 years will get 30 percent. Similarly, pensioners aged 90 to 95 years will get 40 percent and pensioners aged 95 to 100 will get 50 percent. Super senior pensioners above the age of 100 will get 100 percent of the basic pension as compassionate allowance.

Understand it like this, if a pensioner is 81 years old and is getting a pension of Rs 5,000, then he will get Rs 1,000 as additional pension. Similarly, a pensioner between the ages of 85 and 90 will get Rs 1,500 as compassionate allowance.

When will the additional pension be available

According to the notification of the ministry, when the pensioner reaches the age limit, the additional pension or compassionate allowance will become effective from the first day of that month. The government has taken the decision to give additional pension so that the pensioners do not face any problem in living and they can manage it properly.
To ensure that all pensioners receive the benefit of additional pension on time, the ministry has directed the departments and banks involved in pension distribution to disseminate the information.
