E-PAN will be given to the taxpayer on the basis of Aadhaar card. That’s why all the information given in Aadhaar, name, date of birth, gender should all be correct. E-PAN and Aadhaar information should match. The taxpayer will also have to provide the mobile number linked to his Aadhaar card. One time password or OTP will come on this. This mobile number should be verified.
How to apply for instant e-PAN?
- To get an e-PAN card, first go to the Income Tax Department’s website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
- Click on Instant e PAN coming at the top of the quick links.
- After that read the given instructions carefully. Then click on Apply Instant E-PAN.
- After this the user will be told what mistakes should not be made while filling the form.
- Now on the New e-PAN page, after entering your Aadhaar number, select the Confirm checkbox and click on Continue.
- Click on ‘I have read the terms and agree to proceed’ on the OTP validation page.
- Now enter the 6 digit OTP received on the mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
- Select the checkbox to verify Aadhaar details with UIDAI and click on Continue.
- On the Validation Aadhaar Detail page, select the ‘I accept’ checkbox and click on ‘Continue’.
- Along with this, you will also get a confirmation message on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
- Note down the Acknowledgment ID for future reference.
How to download e-PAN?
- Log in to the e Filing portal with your user ID and password.
- Click on Services > View / Download ePAN on your dashboard.
- Now enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number and click on continue.
- On the OTP validation page, enter the 6 digit OTP received on the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar.
- Now you will be able to see the status of your e-PAN
- If a new e-PAN has been generated and allotted, click Download e-PAN to download the copy.
