New Luggage Rules in Flight: If you are planning to travel by air, make sure to know the new hand baggage rules of the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) before you head to the airport.
If you are not aware of these rules, you may face unnecessary hassles and even have to empty your pockets at the airport.
Due to the increasing number of passengers at security checkpoints before boarding the aircraft, the BCAS and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), responsible for airport security, have tightened the rules related to the new hand baggage policy. This strict action by the BCAS and CISF has prompted the airlines to do the same.
One hand bag and a limit of up to 7 kg
Under the new rules of BCAS, passengers will now be allowed to carry only one hand bag inside the aircraft. Whether it is a domestic flight or an international one, passengers will be allowed to carry only one hand or cabin bag. Apart from this, it will be mandatory to check-in any luggage.
