The NDA government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to bring a new liquor policy in the state, which is expected to provide relief to liquor lovers.
According to a report, this new policy will come into effect from October 1 and its aim is to remove the shortcomings of the policies of the previous government.
What is the new policy
- – Liquor shops: Under the new policy, liquor shops will now be in the hands of private vendors. This change will help make sales more competitive.
- – Price reduction: According to reports, the availability of affordable liquor will be ensured under the new policy. Some brands will be available at a price of Rs 99 or less.
- – Opening hours: The opening hours of liquor shops will be increased by three hours, giving people an opportunity to make more convenient purchases.
- – Increase in revenue: The new excise policy is likely to increase revenue by more than Rs 2,000 crore.

A committee of ministers was formed for this policy, which studied the liquor policies of other states, including Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The committee members criticized the policies of the previous government, accusing it of promoting the illegal liquor business. Minister Kollu Ravindra said that the previous government cheated the public and misused government employees for the illegal liquor business. On the other hand, Minister Nadendla Manohar said that by issuing two orders in a single day, the prices of liquor were increased, causing huge losses to the public.

The new liquor policy emphasizes the availability of branded liquor at a reasonable price. It is expected that not only will the quality of liquor improve, but the business of illegal liquor will also decrease. Through this new policy, the Andhra Pradesh government has tried to make the sale of liquor more safe and organized, so that the citizens of the state can get better facilities.
