This facility will be available with this new feature

Not only this, with the new feature of Auto Top-up on UPI Lite, now there will be no need to transfer money from bank account to UPI Lite account again and again. For this, first you have to set a limit for top-up. Suppose you have set a limit of Rs 1000, then as soon as the balance in your UPI wallet is exhausted, Rs 1000 will be deducted from your bank account and transferred directly to the UPI account. This will make it easier to make payments through UPI. On one hand, the transaction limit is being increased from 500 to 1000. At the same time, the total limit is being increased from 2000 to 5000. Earlier, the maximum balance in UPI wallet could be kept of Rs 2000, whereas now it has been increased by 3000.

When will the new rule be implemented?

In the NPCI circular issued on February 27, it has been said that all the members will have to make necessary changes soon, including increasing the limit. First of all, the bank will identify all those UPI LITE accounts in which there has been no transaction in the last six months. The balance left in these inactive LITE accounts will be transferred back to the bank account. All other changes by the bank will be implemented by June 30, 2025.
