ITR E-filing Portal 3.0: Efforts are being made to continuously simplify the process of filing Income Tax Return. Due to this, the number of people filing income tax returns is increasing every year.

The Income Tax Department has now prepared to launch a new portal for ITR e-filing. It has been made more user-friendly, easy and secure. Taxpayers will also get many facilities through this new portal. Let us give you all the information about this.

The committee will give its recommendations by November 30

According to the internal circular of the Income Tax Department, all the previous facilities will be available in the ITR e-filing portal 3.0. Apart from this, many other facilities will be provided for filling ITR, submitting all types of forms. The Central Processing Center (CPC) processes returns through this portal itself. To prepare the e-filing portal 3.0, the IT Department has also taken advice from all stakeholders. For this, a committee will also be formed so that the opinion of taxpayers, tax professionals, various departments and the public can also be known. This committee will give its recommendations by November 30, 2024.

It will help in reducing complaints related to e-filing

With the help of ITR e-filing portal 3.0, taxpayers will get many benefits. Efforts will be made to minimize the complaints related to e-filing of people through changes in technology and infrastructure. Along with this, filing of returns will be made easier for people by improving the user experience. With its help, processing can be done quickly. Due to this, the processing time will also be reduced and people will be able to get returns quickly.

7.28 crore taxpayers filed income tax returns

For the financial year 2023-25 ​​and assessment year 2024-25, 7.28 crore taxpayers had filed income tax returns till July 31, 2024. This figure is 7.5 percent more than the 6.77 crore ITRs filed in the assessment year 2023-24. According to the Finance Ministry, 72 percent of the returns have been filed under the new tax regime. Out of a total of 7.28 crore returns, 5.27 crore income tax returns have been filed under the new income tax regime. Only 2.01 crore income tax returns were filed under the old tax regime.
