Information provided by the department Announcing the rules of work from home, the Ministry of Commerce has informed that now employees will be able to get work from home for a maximum of one year.

Under the new rule, only 50 percent of the employees will be able to get the benefit of work from home. 50% of the employees of the Special Economic Zone Unit will be allowed to work from home. Let us tell you, this rule has been notified for Work from Home Special Economic Zone Rule 43A 2006.

Which employees will get benefits?

The Union Commerce Ministry said that after several requests from employees, the department has introduced new guidelines for Special Economic Zones. The rules notified by the ministry states that these guidelines have been implemented keeping in mind the demands of the industry to follow a uniform nationwide work from home policy across all SEZs.

What are the new guidelines

  • These rules are for the employees of IT/ITES SEZ units.
  • This would include employees who are temporarily disabled, or are traveling or traveling and working offsite.
  • SEZ units will be provided with equipment and secure connectivity for authorized work from home operations.
