As per the proposed plan, the bank’s proceedings will start at 9.15 am instead of 9.45 am and will continue till 4.45 am at its scheduled time. Cash transaction timings will be from 9.30-1.30 hrs and then up to 2-3.30 hrs. At the same time, non-cash transactions will happen from 3.30 am to 4.45 pm.
Request has already been rejected
Al India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) general secretary C.H. Venkatachalam told that he has been demanding a 5-day working week for a long time but the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) did not approve it. He said that when LIC got its approval last year, this demand was raised once again and this time IBA asked how the less work that was not done on the second Saturday would be compensated. Venkatachalam said, “We have agreed to increase the working hours by 30 minutes every day. We are hopeful that IBA, government and RBI will agree on this.
IBA had proposed to increase the salary
