Air India Express has strengthened its domestic network by launching six new daily flights. These include flights from Chennai and Kolkata.
The airline said in a statement issued on Tuesday that the new flights include two from Kolkata, three from Chennai and the first direct flight on the Guwahati-Jaipur route.

The statement said that new flights have been introduced on Chennai-Bhubaneswar, Chennai-Bagdogra, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata-Varanasi, Kolkata-Guwahati and Guwahati-Jaipur routes.

The Kolkata-Varanasi flight will depart at 7:40 am and reach Varanasi at 9:05 am, while the return flight will depart from Varanasi at 9.40 am and reach Kolkata at 11.10 am. The Kolkata-Guwahati flight will depart at 12.10 pm and land in Guwahati at 1.25 pm, while the return flight will depart from Guwahati at 1.55 pm and reach Kolkata at 4.35 pm daily.

The statement also said that five of these routes are new to the airline’s growing network. To meet the growing demand on the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route, which earlier had two weekly flights, the airline has now introduced an additional daily service, taking the total number of flights to nine a week.
Air India Express, a Tata Group unit, operates over 380 daily flights with a fleet of 82 aircraft, including 54 Boeing 737s and 28 Airbus A320s.
