With the arrival of this new expressway, the distance between Delhi and Uttar Pradesh will further reduce. The distance from many big districts of UP to Delhi can be covered in just 8 hours. The name of this expressway is Ganga Expressway. It has been termed as Green Expressway. Its total length is 594 kilometers.

This expressway will increase connectivity between the cities of Eastern UP and Western Uttar Pradesh. It is being told that considering the speed with which work is being done on it, its construction will be completed before 2025 Mahakumbh to be held in Prayagraj. All the departments at the government level have been instructed to complete this project on time.

This expressway will be connected to Delhi-Meerut Expressway with which the distance from Delhi to Prayagraj will also be reduced. This expressway will pass through 12 districts of UP from Meerut to Prayagraj. Therefore, it will connect the eastern and western regions of UP.

The expressway will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. The places through which the expressway will pass will also connect the industrial and religious places.

Ganga Expressway is a greenfield project (planted and built from scratch). There is a plan to make it a six-lane corridor, which can be extended to 8 lanes if needed. An airstrip (3.5 km long) will be built on the expressway in Shahjahanpur, where Air Force aircraft will be able to land and take off in case of emergency.

The maximum speed on Ganga Expressway has been fixed at 120 km/h. Ganga Expressway will have main toll plazas in Meerut and Prayagraj. Apart from this, there will be 12 additional ramp toll plazas.
