In this episode, UIDAI has now made it mandatory for children to get Aadhaar card as well and now parents can easily get Aadhaar card made for newborn baby as well. Aadhar card for new born baby can be applied both online and offline. For the offline process, one needs to visit the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Centre, fill the form submitting all the important documents.
How to apply online?
UIDAI allows online application for Aadhaar card of new born only. For this applicants have to go to the UIDAI website, click on the registration link and fill the information sought there.
This is the step by step process..
1. First of all log on to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in.
2. After this, click on the Aadhaar Card Registration link (‘Aadhaar Card Registration’) given on the home page.
3. For this, enter the name of the child, phone number of the parents, e-mail ID and other necessary details.
4. After filling the details of the new born child, fill other information like address, locality, district, state and other demographic information related to the new born child.
5. After this click on the Fix Appointment tab.
6. Set the date of Aadhar card registration of new born baby.
7. Select the nearest Aadhaar enrollment center to proceed further.
Keep these points in mind
Before submitting the online form and scheduling an appointment for Aadhaar card of the new born baby, parents are advised to check the date of birth in the Aadhaar details of the child as it can be added later only as a Times can be improved. Also, the thing to keep in mind is that when they turn five years old, they will need to register their biometric information like fingerprints etc. with Aadhaar.
