Mumbai Airport Closed: Two crossing runways of Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport owned by Adani Group to remain temporarily non-operational for Mumbai airport maintenance work

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) authorities on Tuesday announced that both the runways of the airport – RWY 09/27 and 14/32, will remain closed for 6 hours on May 2, 2023.

According to the statement of the operating company, this Mumbai airport will be temporarily closed from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) has been issued in this regard. Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, owned by the Adani Group, has two crossing runways – RWY 09/27 and 14/32. Both the runways will remain temporarily non-operational on May 2 for pre-monsoon maintenance and repair work.

CSMIA informs stakeholders six months in advance

CSMIA said it has informed all its concerned stakeholders six months in advance and added that it has also helped airlines plan their flight schedules. All operations will resume as usual from 5 PM onwards on May 2. Mumbai International Airport is the second busiest single-runway airport in the world, handling around 900 flights every day.
