The Jharkhand government has taken an important decision in view of the upcoming General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (JGGLCCE).
Internet services will be completely banned from 8 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday to deal with possible fraud and cheating during the examination in the state. This step has been taken to ensure the safety of the students and the fairness of the examination.
Serious warning of the Chief Minister
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given clear instructions to the officials while discussing the preparations for the examination. He has said that any kind of negligence or irregularity will not be tolerated during the examination. He wrote in one of his posts on the social media platform X, “If anyone tries to do wrong during the examination, strict action will be taken against them.” This warning makes it clear how serious the government is about this examination.
Preparations for the examination
This time around 6.39 lakh candidates will appear in this examination in Jharkhand, which will be held at 823 examination centers. Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) officials say that this step is not only to prevent cheating but also to make the examination environment transparent. Chief Minister Soren has also said that any kind of mistakes will be taken seriously and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Purpose of ban on internet services
The government has decided to suspend internet services so that the candidates do not get any kind of help during the examination. Usually, people involved in paper leak incidents try to share question papers via WhatsApp or other messaging apps before the exam. This may raise questions on the fairness of the paper. Through this decision, the Jharkhand government aims to ensure that the examination process is completely fair and there is no doubt about the results.
Ban on internet use
In the report released by the Jharkhand Home Department, it has been made clear that on September 21 and 22, from 8 am to 1:30 pm, voice calls and broadband connectivity based on fixed telephone lines will remain on. This means that people can talk on the phone, but will not be able to use the internet. Violation of this order will attract strict action under Section-223 of the Indian Justice Code 2023 and the Indian Telegraph Act 1885.
