Concession in Mumbai Metro: Maharashtra State Day will be celebrated on May 1. On this occasion, the government of CM Eknath Shinde has given a big gift to senior citizens, differently-abled and students.
On this day, all three metros will be able to travel at concessional rates, however, this discount will be only for 45 or 60 trips on Mumbai-1 pass. It is noteworthy that earlier on the occasion of Maharashtra Day, the government of CM Eknath Shinde had also allowed women 50 percent discount on bus fare was announced.
Up to 25 percent discount will be available
According to the order of the Maharashtra government, senior citizens above 65 years, Divyang and students up to class 12th will get a discount of up to 25 percent in metro fare. Passengers using Mumbai 1 National Common Mobility Card of these categories can avail this benefit. CM Eknath Shinde said that this is a gift to Mumbaikars from Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL). According to the CM, ‘we have taken this decision with a social spirit.’
These documents will have to be shown in the ticket window
In order to take advantage of the facility of discount tickets in the metro, the disabled will have to show their medical certificate or government certificate in the ticket window. At the same time, senior citizens will have to show their age proof. Students will have to show their parents’ PAN card and their school ID card in the ticket window. You can avail this facility at the ticket window of 2A and 7 lines. Apart from this, the benefit of this discount will be available for 45 to 60 trips in new and already purchased Mumbai 1 Pass.
MMMOCL maintains Metro Lines 2A and 7. 2A (Yellow Line) connects Dahisar East to DN Nagar in Andheri West. Whereas, Line 7 (Red Line) connects Andheri East and Dahisar East. Our aim was to keep in mind the needs and safety of senior citizens, disabled and children. We hope that more and more people will take advantage of the concession rates and travel by Metro.
