Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced on Thursday that marriage certificates, birth certificates and death certificates issued by gram panchayats will soon be available online.
While chairing a review meeting of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, the Chief Minister said that the government is committed to providing essential services to the people at their doorsteps.
Other important statements of the Chief Minister:
State Economy: CM Sukhu said that rural development is necessary to strengthen the state’s economy. Successful implementation of various schemes is necessary in this direction. Under MNREGA, a target of 344.31 lakh man-days has been achieved in 2023-24, which is more than the initial target of 275 lakh man-days. A target of 300 lakh man-days has been set for the next year, out of which 214.51 lakh man-days have already been earned.
ODF Plus Model:
The Chief Minister also discussed the progress in converting villages into Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus model. He informed that 17,582 villages will be converted into ODF Plus model in 2024-25, while 9,203 villages have already achieved this status.
Women Empowerment:
CM Sukhu also underlined the efforts for women empowerment under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). So far, 43,161 self-help groups have been formed, which have been provided financial assistance to promote economic activities.
Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Aniruddha Singh also reaffirmed the government’s vision towards empowering gram panchayats and rural development in the meeting. He also said that coordinated efforts among various stakeholders are important for the successful implementation of departmental schemes.
