The Reserve Bank of India acts as the regulatory body for all the banks in the country. Therefore, the Reserve Bank of India also decides which day will be a holiday in banks and which day it will not. Anyway, banks have a holiday on second and fourth Saturday, which is also proposed to be made on all Saturdays very soon.

Banks will remain closed for 5 days

If we look at the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India, banks will remain closed for 5 consecutive days from tomorrow. Its list is as follows.

  1. There will be a holiday for banks falling in Agal Circle on 11th January. Missionary Day is celebrated in Mizoram on this day.
  2. Banks of Kolkata circle will remain closed on January 12. Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary is celebrated on this day in the state of West Bengal, while the country celebrates National Youth Day.
  3. There will be Saturday and Sunday holiday in banks on 13th and 14th January. January 13 is the second Saturday of the month. After this, the next Saturday holiday of the month will be on 27th January.
  4. The festival of Makar Sankranti will be celebrated across the country on 15 January. It is celebrated with different names in different states. Banks will remain closed especially in Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Gangtok, Hyderabad and Guwahati circles on January 15. The festivals of Pongal and Magh Bihu are celebrated with great enthusiasm in these places.
