LTC New Rule: Changes have been made in the rules of LTC for central government employees. Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training (DopT) has recently prepared guidelines for Leave Travel Concession (LTC) for Central Government employees.

What is LTC for Central Government employees?
As per the Office Memorandum dated April 30, 2024, the LTC scheme is a concessional travel service for government employees to visit their home town or any place in India during a block of four years.
As per the scheme rules, Government employees have the option to either avail Home Town LTC twice in a two-year block or visit their home town once in two years and visit any other place in India in the second block of two years. There is an option to roam around the place.
According to OM they will get LTC
1. Who are working as civilian Government servants in the Defense Services in connection with Civil Service matters.
2. Those working under the state government. He is on deputation with the Central Government.
3. Those who have been hired on contract basis.
4. Those who have been re-employed after retirement.
These employees will not get LTC
1. Government employees who are not in full-time employment.
2. Persons with casual and daily employment.
3. A person receiving payment from incidental expenses.
4. Railway Employees
5. Members of the armed forces
6. Local recruitment in Indian missions abroad
7. The person is eligible for any other type of travel concession available during leave or otherwise.
